Application Closed
The application for START funding closed on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 12:00pm noon.
Award messages will be sent in mid-April.
One faculty member from each project team will be responsible for submitting the project application. The completed application will be routed to the other token-contributing investigators for approval.
Before you begin your application, make sure to have the following information:
Project Details
Project title
Project description: 1 paragraph abstract of your work
Project goal: 1 sentence describing the intended outcome of your project.
This project information will be viewable to the general public on the START website.
Co-investigator Information
Team size: number of faculty members contributing a funding token to this project.
Team contact information: names and email addresses of faculty members working on this project (those that are contributing a funding token and those that are not.)
Funding Request
Total project funding (includes 1/3 faculty member cost-sharing)
Each investigator’s token value: individual funding request for each investigator (max $15K total: $5K in faculty cost-share and $10K Engineering contribution)
Total project award: sum of token values (max $75K total: $25K in faculty cost-share and $50K Engineering contribution)
Administrative Support Contact
Your Research Administrator or Team’s contact information: name and email address of the person or team that manages your research activity.
We’ll coordinate project funding with this person or team if your project is awarded funding.
